SuperstarElection.com exists to answer one question that is surprisingly hard to answer well: what do ordinary people in Tamil Nadu actually think about their politicians? Mainstream coverage tends to report what parties say about each other. We are more interested in what voters say — and in giving them a place to say it.

The site does three things. It runs open opinion polls that anyone can vote in. It maintains a reference directory of Tamil Nadu's political parties, sitting MLAs and MPs, and the 234 assembly and 39 parliamentary constituencies. And it publishes news and analysis written by our own editorial team.

How our opinion polls work

We are explicit about our methodology because a poll without a stated method is just a number.

• Self-selecting, not representative. Our polls are open to anyone who visits the site. They are not randomised, weighted, or stratified samples, and they are not designed to predict election outcomes. They measure the sentiment of the people who chose to respond.
• One vote per poll, per device. We record a vote against the voter's network address to prevent casual repeat voting. This is a deterrent, not a guarantee — determined ballot-stuffing is possible on any open web poll and we do not claim otherwise.
• Results are live and unedited. We publish the running totals as they stand. We do not remove options, reset counts, or hide a result because it is inconvenient.
• Polls close on a stated date. Every poll carries its own end date, after which voting stops and the result becomes a permanent record.

If you are quoting our numbers, please describe them as an open online opinion poll, not as a scientific survey.

Our editorial standards

• No party affiliation. We are not owned by, funded by, or aligned with any political party, candidate, or campaign. We accept no payment for favourable coverage or for placing a politician in a poll.
• Profiles are factual, not evaluative. Politician and party pages record verifiable public information — office held, constituency, party, electoral history — sourced from Election Commission of India records, assembly records, and official party channels. Where a fact is contested, we say so.
• Analysis is labelled. Opinion and analysis pieces carry a named author and are visibly separated from reference material.
• We correct errors. If we publish something inaccurate, write to us and we will correct it and note the correction. Politicians and their offices may request a correction to their own profile at the address below.
• Advertising does not influence coverage. The site carries third-party advertising. Advertisers have no input into what we publish.

Languages

We publish in English and Tamil (தமிழ்). Politician and party names are recorded in both scripts. Polls may be run in either language.
